Peer mentors, 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ students who volunteer to provide support to students in the SHEP program, are a vital part of the program’s success. Some peer mentors support students by attending a class with them, while other peer mentors meet with students outside of class—as lunch or study partners, or to engage in an extracurricular activity. Peer mentors can commit to as little as one hour per week, meeting with a student in the SHEP program on campus in one of the capacities listed above.

No experience is necessary to be a volunteer peer mentor—we will train you and provide support! You just need to make a firm commitment to meet with your assigned student during the time slot that you choose. There are many slots available throughout the day, so you can choose a time and an activity that fits with your schedule and interests.
