For New Undergraduate Transfer Students starting in Fall 2025 and beyond: In fall 2025, 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ will be launching its 3 States, 1 Rate tuition model for new undergraduate students from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. This is an exciting development for 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ as we continue to streamline the college admissions process, reduce the confusion and complexity surrounding college tuition and make education even more accessible for new students.

Ohio Tuition Reciprocity (Transfer students starting prior to Fall 2025)

Effective Fall 2019, new students may qualify for Ohio Tuition Reciprocity if they meet all of the following criteria:

• Currently reside in one of the applicable counties in southwest Ohio: Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette, Hamilton, Highland, or Warren county.
• Have earned an Associate degree from the University of Cincinnati (including Blue Ash College, Clermont College), Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Southern State Community College, Miami University - Hamilton, Miami University - Middletown, Clark State Community College, or Sinclair Community College.
• Are working toward your first Bachelor's degree at 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ and not majoring in one of the ineligible programs (Early Childhood Education or Nursing). 
• If you wish to be considered for Ohio Reciprocity, you must submit all official credentials indicating that you earned an Associate degree by the final deadline of August 1 (for Fall semester), December 1 (for Spring semester), or May 1 (for Summer semester). This agreement and/or rate are subject to change and/or may be discontinued at any time.

Students graduating from Bellevue, Dayton, Holmes, Lloyd, Ludlow and Newport High Schools in Kentucky after May 2020 are eligible for the River City Promise Program. Federal Pell Grant eligible students will receive a scholarship to cover tuition. It is renewable for up to twelve semesters or six years.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Graduates of Bellevue, Dayton, Holmes, Lloyd, Ludlow and Newport High Schools
• Be Federal Pell Grant Eligible
• First-time Freshman enrolled directly into Gateway upon high school graduation
• Be a Gateway251±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ program participant*
• Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA at GCTC 
• Graduate of Gateway CTC in an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Applied Science degree program
• Enrolled directly into 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ from Gateway 
• 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ full-time (earn minimum 12 hours a semester) upon transfer to 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ 
• Completed FAFSA application
• Maintain continuing student status and remain in good academic standing at both institutions

For students prior to Fall 2025

Out-of-state transfer students not transferring directly from the Kentucky Community Technical College System (KCTCS) and earning a 2.0 GPA or greater and who reside in select counties listed below in Ohio or Indiana may also be eligible to receive a $5,200 award.

Ohio: Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Cuyahoga, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Licking, Lorain, Pike, Preble, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Ross, Scioto, Union, Warren

Indiana: Clark, Hamilton, Marion

Students may not be eligible to receive the Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) if they are eligible to receive the Indiana Rate, Ohio Reciprocity tuition rate, are admitted to any PACE or online programs, or have already received a Bachelor's degree.

For students prior to Fall 2025

Award:  $2,000 annual ($1,000 per Fall and Spring)   

Deadline:  August 1 (for Fall)   December 1 (for Spring)

• This award is only for students transferring to 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ who live out-of-state, i.e. do not live in the state of Kentucky.
• Students must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for the Out-of-State Transfer Award:
• Be a resident of any state except Kentucky in the United States, or be an international student.
• Receive a final Transfer Credit Evaluation from 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ consisting of at least 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of credit from a regionally accredited institution(s), which is equal to or greater than junior status.
• Be academically eligible to return to prior institution and have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
• Be admitted with no restrictions or academic deficiencies into a Bachelor's degree program at 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ.
• Must have never been previously enrolled at 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ as a non-degree, degree seeking, or consortium student.
• Must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours in both Fall and Spring semesters.
• Students may not be eligible to receive the Out-of-State Transfer Award if they are eligible to receive the Indiana Rate, Ohio Reciprocity tuition rate, are admitted to any online accelerated programs, transferring from a KCTCS Institution, or have already received a Bachelor's degree.

Effective Fall 2019: Out-of-state transfer students transferring directly from the Kentucky Community Technical College System (KCTCS) with an earned associate degree with a 2.0 GPA or greater will be eligible for in-state tuition rates. Students must be first-time transfer students to 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ and enroll full-time.

Instructions on how to complete the application: 

1. You will need to enter your 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ username and password to access the application form. (This is the same information that you use to access your 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ email and my51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ portal). 

2. You will have the option to save your application and come back to it later and complete it. 

• When you have completed all areas of the general application to your satisfaction, please be sure to click, Finish and Submit at the bottom of the application screen. 

3. You will be asked to provide a short answer or essay to the following prompts: 

• Briefly list your long-term professional goals. 
• Essay on Success: People have various definitions of success (career, wealth, civic engagement). How do you define success? When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? 
• Essay on Leadership and Community Services Involvement: How do you define leadership? Describe your leadership experience/community service involvement.

We would encourage you to think about those essays before starting the scholarship application. 

4. You must have at least one (1) form or letter of reccomendation for your application to be considered complete.

• You will have to provide the name and email address of at least one (1) person that can serve as a reference for you. The individual will be sent an email with a link to the Reference Questionaire.  You can provide more than contact for this area if you chose. 
• Your reference can chose to complete the Reference Questionaire or they can chose to write a letter of recommendation for you. 
  • Please Note: if they write you a letter of recommendation, you would be responsible for uploading the letter to your application. 
  • The completion of the Reference Questionaire or the upload of the letter of recommendation must be completed by the application deadline of March 17, 2025. 

5. There are are some donor scholarships that will require additional information. After you complete the general scholarship application, if you meet the first level of eligibility for these scholarships, you will be given the option to answer the additional questions for these scholarships. 

What is WUPSP?

WUPSP is a group of federal grant programs designed to increase the number of helping professionals by offering financial support during schooling and for the first few years of post-grad working life. 

What does WUPSP offer? 

• Up to $3,500/yr in scholarships
• Paid internships â€“ stipend up to $7,500
• Stipend after graduation up to $7,500 (designed to boost wages for the first two years of working in the field) 

Who is a good fit for WUPSP?

51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ students going into the helping professions:

• BSW
• MSW
• Counseling
• Psychology
• Human Services and Addictions 

What are other eligibility requirements?

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 
• Plan to complete required field experience placements and corresponding courses, according to academic program. 
• Commit to working with underserved populations after graduation.

51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ students have various employment opportunities while attending classes on campus. You can find a job working in almost any 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ department. Most offices hire student employees every semester, and better yet, they work around your class schedule. In order to be eligible for Student Employment positions, you must be a degree seeking student and you must enroll in at least 9 credit hours each semester (excluding Summer semester) at 51±¬ÁÏÏÂÔØ.
