A museum, exhibition hall, interior visualization

Do you enjoy building accurate displays and environments designed to engage and educate the public?

This micro-credential is for individuals interested in exhibit design and theory, and it provides opportunities to gain real-world, hands-on experiences caring for artifacts and producing, interpreting, constructing, installing, evaluating and caring for exhibits.

The student will be part of an exhibit team at one of our partner institutions.

Learning Outcomes

  • Design and implement museum exhibits that are informative and attractive, and meet certain goals and objectives.
  • Develop complex historical narratives and place them in exhibit form.
  • Effectively communicate using the exhibit medium.

  • HIS 607 - Exhibits in Museums and Historic Sites
  • HIS 605 - Museum Education and Interpretation

Choose one of the following:

  • HIS 596/696 - Exhibit Internship
  • HIS 592/692 - Independent Research
